In a couple of hours, Lee and I are heading to London to catch the first day of Less Than Jake, the only members of Skankitude Force Nine to actually make the trip, others not being able to come for such lame reasons as "I'm in America" and "I'm a curly haired muppet". These sort of excuses will not be tolerated. I still have no idea what album is being played on each night (and apparently, neither do the band - their Florida residency was also pretty random). However, I have my requests ready. Yo Yo Ninja Boy, Hamburger Hop, Beer, Keasby Nights, Take On Me, Sell Out, and of course, Free Bird. No, really. I want to hear a ska version of Free Bird. And the others. Even if LTJ didn't do them. There hasn't been enough ska recently, and I need MORE NOW dammit. For those about rock skank, we salute you! Hot on the heels of my Xbox failing (although some bodged data recovery attempt is gonna occur tonight), my 360 appears to have died too. Yeah, I'm annoyed too. However, this shouldn't be the end of the world, as microsoft customer service have been really good - basically, they're sending out an appropriate box to me, I detatch the hard drive and cables and keep them, and ship my console back to Microsoft UK. When they recieve it, they prod it a bit, and if they confirm it as broken, they send me a shiny new one. So yes, my Xbox has died, my 360 is dead, my TV is borked, and I still haven't replaced that harddrive that failed last summer. If you need me, I'll be outside, playing with rocks. I shouldn't be able to break them, hopefully. Mood: annoyed

My Xbox (the original, not the 360) has finally decided to die completely. It takes with it my 99% complete in Burnout 3 (I goddamn earnt that), my 78% complete or so in Burnout Revenge, not to mention everything else I unlocked on it - but those are the two achievements that really stand out in my mind. My 360 is still here, of course, but I can't play Burnout Revenge on it (Burnout 3 works fine, but Revenge was also released for the 360 - hence you can't play the Xbox version on it). It's sad, and there's certainly a sense of loss - I know it's only numbers, and an inanimate object, but there was a real sense of earning those achievements, not to mention all the times spent gaming socially - Burnout 3 crash party, or Hunter The Reckoning, anyone? It lasted for five years, and certainly gave me my money's worth, so I guess I can't complain. Just wish the backwards compatibility on my 360 was a bit more complete. And that my TV upstairs worked properly, of course, I really need to replace it at some point. A new generation of gaming awaits. Mood: sad
